South Africa Tourist Guide

South Africa

Cruises along the coast of South Africa include those sailing from Cape Town up to St Helena in the Atlantic, and also those sailing from Durban past Mozambique and up to Zanzibar. Some cruises from Durban also extend down to Cape Town allowing the traveler to experience the warm sunshine and natural coastline beauty of South Africa.

South Africa is a diverse county that offers a variety of experiences for the traveler, from sandy beaches to magnificent mountain ranges and amazing wildlife. Despite having a lengthy coastline, South Africa does not have a sophisticated sailing industry which would enable travelers to fully experience the country. Most ships that sail along the coast only stop at Cape Town or Durban, and usually as part of longer cruises to other parts of the world.

The famous port cities of Durban and Cape Town are both exciting destinations that offer contrasting experiences for the visitor. The world-famous Cape Town, which lies at the foot of Table Mountain, offers a chance to experience beautiful natural beauty in a city environment. There is plenty to do here, from relaxing on white sandy beaches, to viewing penguin colonies or tasting wine out in the countryside. Durban, located on the warm Indian Ocean, has a more tropical vibe, and when you combine this with a strong Zulu heritage, you find a city that has a unique and pulsating energy. The city is also the gateway to many of South Africa's wonders, including the Drakensberg Mountain Range and the St Lucia Wetlands.
