AmaDagio

The MS Amadagio was the first of the AMA fleet of luxury river cruisers to be launched in 2006 and set new standards in European river cruising. Carrying a maximum of 150 passengers, the Amadagio has been specially designed to offer more space and more unique features than almost any other European river boat. Her well-equipped public areas include two airy lounges, a huge sundeck, whirlpool, fitness room, beauty salon and an elegant restaurant offering top level international cuisine.

The ship has a large number of bicycles on board, which guests are able to use free of charge for excursions into the small towns which line the river banks. Many of the regions feature well-maintained cycle paths alongside the river, making it easy to explore the area independently.

Located in the Aft area of Violin Deck, the Amadagio's Wellness Area includes a glass-enclosed fitness area with cardio machines, as well as massage facilities and a beauty room.

The Amadagio has two lounges; the Grand Panorama Lounge, where you can enjoy live piano music and dancing in the evenings, and the smaller Adagio Lounge, which is stylishly furnished with modern wicker furniture and has French doors which open to access the fresh river air.

The Amadagio has a large yet elegant restaurant which features open seating. Fine cuisine is a feature on the AMA fleet, and the onboard chefs compose sophisticated menus which feature delicious soups, fresh produce, high quality meat and fresh fish. Breakfast is a lavish champagne buffet featuring a fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, a large selection of fresh bread and pastries as well as smoked salmon and regional meats and cheeses. Returning to the ship following your morning’s excursion, you will enjoy a three course lunch followed by coffee, and in the evenings, an elegant dinner is served with free-flowing wines from local vintners. Theme nights and a farewell Gala Dinners are highlights of the dining experience. Start your day with a lavish gourmet champagne breakfast buffet. Choose from a rich assortment of breads, croissants and pastries, a variety of fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, and smoked salmon. Sample the delicious cheeses, cold cuts and local sausages, as well as our daily regional specials. An array of traditional breakfast items is also available from the menu. Return from your shore excursion to a delicious lunch. Start with mouth-watering hot or cold appetizers, homemade soups, then choose from a selection of great entrees, finish off with a delectable dessert and complimentary cappuccino. In the evening, be our honored guest for an elegant dinner or a traditional theme night with a feast of regional specialties. The Amadagio has a very large sundeck, featuring plenty of comfortable seating, shaded areas, a whirlpool offering views of the stunning river scenery and a giant chess set.

The AMA cruisers are among the few river ships which have their own elevator. On the Amadagio, the elevator accesses four floors; the Restaurant level, the staterooms on Cello Deck, the lobby and Panorama Lounge and the Staterooms on Violin Deck.
