Croatian Coastal Cruises (Deluxe Class)

Adriatic Explorer from Dubrovnik to Opatija

The Croatian Coastal Cruise fleet offers relaxing, scenic cruises around the glittering Dalmatian coastline. The fleet comprises of six different categories of ship. The new Deluxe class boasts newer and larger vessels measuring between 42 to 47 metres in length and feature sleek designed, spacious en-suite cabins with air conditioning. Cabins come with either double or twin beds, 12 to 17 sq meters in size. Vessels of this category all feature spacious amenities including a sundeck, lounge and indoor and outdoor dining areas. Cruises on Category Deluxe also include Airport transfers, Captain's dinner with live music, additional dinner in a typical Croatian setting, all sightseeings, English speaking tour manager, various entrance fees, various tastings, Visitors' tax & port fees, luggage handling, daily cabin service and other special services on board.

Day 1: Dubrovnik - Korcula

Arrive at Dubrovnik and board the ship as it gets ready to set sail for Korcula, an island best known as the birthplace of Marco Polo, the famous explorer. Covering much of the island are the distinct, almost black pineforests, so Korčula is also known as Ȍthe Black Island. Korčula Town is like a mini Dubrovnik, also encased by medieval stone ramparts and towers. A guide will lead you through the old town where tiny streets are designed in a fish bone pattern for a very good reason that you will hear about! Lots of simple konobas, restaurants and cool cocktail bars.

Day 2: Korcula - Metković

Explore one of the last remaining wetland deltas in Europe. Cruise to Metković, on the banks of the river Neretva after which the delta is named. Here, mandarins grow by the water channels and you can enjoy take a barge ride to explore the groves, the flora and fauna, wild birds and the traditional way of life of the Neretva people. There’s a delightful, “time warp” feeling like nowhere else on the coast. Narona archaeological museum in Vid, which you will visit holds remains of a Roman temple –the Augusteum – and seventeen monumental marble sculptures of Roman emperors and their family members. This is where the ancient Illyrians, Greeks, Romans once sailed, and, according to legend, the pirates of Neretva planned their raids on enemy galleys. Captain’s dinner with live entertainment on board scheduled for this evening.

Day 3: Split

The cruise continues to Split, Croatia's second largest city. Split waterfront is a happening place and there’s a buzz along the beautiful wide promenade. A local guide will meet you on arrival for a walk through the heart of the bustling old town and the market.

Day 4: Krka Waterfalls - Sibenik

Today its all about wine and waterfalls! Cruise towards Skradin then board our coach. First stop is the famous Bibich winery for wine tasting and light tapas lunch. Back in Skradin walk through the Krka Waterfalls National Park and visit “Skradinski Buk”. There are 17 waterfalls, with cascades up to 100 m wide, and the Krka river tumbles 45.7 meters. A never-to-forget experience is swimming under the falls so bring your swimming things and enjoy the crystal clear fresh water. In the afternoon arrive in Šibenik, located in the central region of Croatia’s Adriatic coast. Explore the glorious old town, the cultural monuments including the UNESCO listed Cathedral of St James. Wander and discover the historic core and waterfront.

Day 5: Sibenik - Zadar

After breakfast, the ship sets sail for Zadar, the oldest university town in Croatia. The Roman Forum from the 1st century, St Donat church from the 9th century - the most famous medieval Basilica and the city’s symbol, the mighty city walls, over 30 churches. Day 6: Zadar - Rab Island

The ship sets sail for Rab, known as the island of love. On arrival enjoy a guided city tour including the medieval walls. the famous four towers (and maybe climb one of them later!) together with palaces, churches and squares. Legend has it that local nuns created a special Rab cake for a visiting Pope and you will sample this after the tour. The recipe remains forever secret.

Day 7: Rab Island - Opatija

Depart Rab Island and set sail for your final destination, Opatija riviera, often compare to the French Riviera due to its magnificent views. Your guide will tell you about the history and culture of the region and highlight some of the many monuments. Walk the famous Franz Josef promenade, Lungomare to the fisherman's village, Volosko, home of some of best seafood restaurants in Croatia. Farewell dinner onboard and evening entertainment.

Day 8: Opatija

Your journey ends in Opatija where you will disembark the ship.
