Lord of the Glens

6 Day Spring and Autumn in the Highlands Cruise from Oban to Inverness

The 54 passenger Lord of the Glens journeys through the Scottish countryside in spectacular style. From the moment you step aboard you are surrounded by the rich mahogany finishes of the reception area and lobby. The ship is magnificently appointed and is more in keeping with the standard expected of a stately country manor than that of a five-star ship. The cabins are tastefully decorated, comfortable and spacious with wonderful outside views.

Embark at the North Pier in Oban (transfers from Inverness available).

Day 1: Oban

Join the Lord of the Glens in Oban this afternoon. After settling in to your cabin there will be an evening welcome reception and dinner on board. The ship will remain in Oban overnight.

Day 2: Oban - Isle of Mull

Take a walking tour of Oban, including visits to a whiskey distillery and McCaig's Folly before the Lord of the Glens sets sail across Oban Bay and Loch Linnhe to enter the Sound of Mull. After mooring in Craignure, you disembark for a visit to Duart Castle and then rejoin the ship in Tobermory, where the Lord of the Glens remains docked overnight.

Day 3: Tobermory - Corpach

This morning there will be free time for you to explore this pictureque little town, with its gaily painted waterfront. From Tobermory, cruise the length of the Sound of Mull and along Loch Linnhe to the entrance of the Caledonian Canal at Corpach. Here you will board the West Highland Railway Line to Glenfinnin with its famous viaduct and beautiful loch. The Lord of the Glens will remain in Corpach overnight.

Day 4: Fort Augustus - Loch Ness

In the morning, the Lord of the Glens ascends a series of interconnecting locks known as Neptune's Staircase to reach Banavie. From here you continue to Fort Augustus via Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and Laggan Avenue. In Fort Augustus, another series of locks runs through the town and lowers the ship to Loch Ness. The afternoon is at leisure for you to explore Fort Augustus. The Lord of the Glens will moor in Inveroich overnight.

Day 5: Loch Ness - Inverness

Take a scenic cruise across Loch Ness this morning, stopping briefly in front of Urquhart Castle before arriving into Loch Dochfour. From here, your journey continues to Inverness where you will enjoy an evening farewell reception and dinner.
